Random pictures

Here are some pictures of Grandma Vickie when she came to stay with us for the week after we got home from the hospital, as well as random pictures of Creux and Grayson at her house this weekend. The following blogs are a little out of order, but I just got these pictures from Vickie so I wanted to get them all posted.

Visit to Grandma Vickie's

We made our first trip to Effingham last weekend. Creux slept the entire way down and back. Daddy and Mommy got to go see a movie together..Role Models. It was hilarious, but we really missed Creux and Grayson. Although, the break was nice. We also went to visit Grandma Linda. She had a blanket made for Creux and he loves it! It is the only thing he will sleep under now! We spent most of the weekend playing Uno Attack with Uncle Josh, Daddy, Grayson, Mommy, David, and Grandma Vickie. Grayson decided she wanted to be Uncle Josh's assistant instead...she had a ball! Creux also had his first visit to Walmart where we got to use his stroller for the first time. Jeremy saw about 50 people he knew in the 15 minutes we were there! He was such a proud papa.
Creux had a doctor appointment on Monday. He weighs 11 lbs 3 ozs now! He gained 2 1/2 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks! At this rate he will be bigger than his dad at the age of 6! He's quite the eater! His head is getting sooooo big! Tonight, only his Mommy could make him happy. I knew all of that vomiting would pay off and we would be really close!
The Hospital Troopers

Creux has the same internal clock as his mother. Therefore, he was at his peak at about 2:01 am. Here are the pictures of the family members that drove up that evening and stuck it out for his early morning birth! I think they were all glad for the wait. I had to kick them out of the room at one point because I was having mean thoughts about them when they would talk during my contractions. Not their fault because I didn't tell them I was in that much pain, but I seriously wanted to hurt someone, anyone at that point! These are the after pictures with the baby when I didn't want to hurt my family anymore! lol
Hospital Photos
The Trifecta

I forgot to post our story about Jeremy's rough evening. We were changing Creux's diaper, tag team style, a couple weeks ago. It was still mostly breastfed poo, so it was runny and yellow. It was such a bad blowout that we needed to get him in the shower. So Jeremy had Creux in his hands, naked, with both of them covered in it as I was running the baby bath. He had to be hosed off before we could put him in his bath because we didn't want to bathe him in dirty water. So Jeremy is holding him a foot or so away from him to avoid getting the poop on him, and Creux just pukes, projectile, all the way over to Jeremy's shirt! So we get him hosed off, and Jeremy now has been pooped on and puked on, and we finally get him into his bath. Creux proceeds to throw up two more times on Jeremy and as Daddy is getting him out of the bathtub, I see this tall, arch-like stream of water coming from Creux's direction, going onto Jeremy once again! He was peeing on his Daddy as he was getting taken out of the bathtub! So to sum it up, within 3 minutes, Jeremy had been pooped on, puked on, and peed on! I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe! Jeremy thought it was amusing as well, with the comment, "You've got to be kidding me!" coming out of his mouth three times that evening!

Grandma Cheryl and her Grandbabies!
Grandma Cheryl came over to visit with Zoe and Chris last
week as well. I can't believe how alert Creux looks in this
picture. And what's up with my so-called photogenic daughter?! She has to TRY to take a bad picture...and well, she succeeded! What a ham! Creux looks so big in her arms because she's like a third of Jeremy's size! When Daddy holds him he looks like a tiny little elf and with Grandma Cheryl, he looks like he's going to try out for the NBA next week! She has really bonded with Creux which is nice. Her baby boy moved to Cincinnati a couple weeks before he was born, which if I think about Creux moving out -- I'll have a break down! By the way, I think Creux is starting to look like my Dad, which means I might eventually have a child that looks like ME!
I just realized how little you have to write about when your world doesn't extend outside of your basement! I was reading Aunt Ali's blog for Ethan and she has all kinds of fun stories and places they go....and we are still in "shut-in" mode. Well, at least we are taking our first trip to Effingham this weekend. Maybe I'll have some better stories next week.....to be continued.

Zoe and Chris...built-in babysitters!
Zoe and Chris, Zoe's boyfriend of over a year
came over to visit
last week. Doesn't Zoe's hair
look great!? (she was on on her way home from the hairstylist). Creux just loves these two crazy teenagers. And I think Chris has tried to smuggle him out in his sweatshirt a couple of times. I've never seen a 17/18 year old guy who loves babies so much! I can't wait until Creux's a little older and they can babysit! One of the many perks of having a sister younger sister who still needs a safe place to make out! Just kidding Dad!

Party at the Riemans'!!

Both Creux and his Daddy were exhausted this evening so I captured a fun night at the Rieman household without them knowing it. Not the best picture of Jeremy, but how good can you look when you are asleep and drooling?! Creux pulls it off though. He looks so peaceful in his Daddy's arms. Grayson is in bed, Creux and Jeremy are passed out on the couch and I'm watching Cremson Tide for the third time this week. I really need to get out of the house more! lol. Actually, I'm enjoying every minute of my time with Creux until we have to go back to work after Thanksgiving. The plan is that he'll go with me as long as everything works out and he's not too difficult, which he usually isn't. I've got a nursery planned for him in one of the tanning rooms that we don't utilize, where I can put a couch and his Pac N Play. I've got a feeling that he will be in his sling around my waste most of the time with as much as he likes to be held. Thanks Grandma Vickie! lol.

Aunt Alison Comes to Visit!

Alison finally got to meet Creux last week! He was wearing his St. Louis Cardinals outfit that Dave and Debbie got him as Alison lives about 10 minutes from them in St. Louis. We had a very nice visit. Grayson had a little bit of a rough time sharing her, as Ali is HER Godmother and has always come to visit just her. But overall she did pretty well once she got used to the idea and got over her case of "Look at Me's" as we call it. Alison couldn't get over how small he was as her son Ethan was over 10lbs when born! Creux still hasn't caught up with him at birth! It was great to see her. I wish we lived closer as she's been my friend since 2nd grade and probably knows me better than anyone. Wait a second, that might be a bad thing! lol.
We go in for a weigh in this week to see how Creux is progressing, but his jaundice is gone. He's white an pasty like his father now! He grew out of his first Newborn sleeper today. It must've been smaller than the others, but his 0-3 months fit him now in length finally. He still looks so small when his Daddy cuddles with him though. We had a little projectile vomiting out of his nose about an hour ago. It was not fun and always makes me feel like he's going to get it in his lungs. I don't remember Grayson ever doing that, but Creux does it about once every 3 days. Mommy the worrier.
She Loves Her Baby Brother!
Grayson started reading Creux his first book today. It was soooo cute! I just realized how much help she will be, and is right now actually. A built in babysitter and helper who loves him as much as we do! Can't get any better than that! If she hears him cry, she's right there with a binky trying to soothe him. If he's sleeping, she's kissing on him. She loves him so much! And to think, she started second guessing this order she put in for a baby brother about a week before his birth. She's happy with her initial decision now....but let's see how she is when he's mobile and wanting all of her toys! Should be interesting!

Grandma Kima Visit
Grandma Kima and Grandpa Jim visited last week from San Antonio. This was their first time meeting Creux. Of course, they fell in love with him instantly. Mom helped out around the house and let me get a couple long naps in during the morning hours. It was nice since I've yet to have an entire night's sleep for 4 weeks and 1 day! I posted this after my election day post, so please read on so you don't miss a posting. Also, Grayson passed her rocket math step B yesterday and has moved onto step C. I know you don't know what that means, but Grandpa Shorty and I worked with her really hard to get her to the next step so we are really excited! Election night

As a mother of a son born in October 2008, I found it necessary to comment on this momentous occasion -- in his baby book of all places as it stared at me from the coffee table in our basement den. Creux and I, alone as Grayson and Jeremy couldn't keep their eyes open anymore, watched the returns together in our favorite overstuffed green chair. I found myself holding him a little tighter with tears rolling down my face, with the overwhelming desire to drive to Chicago and take part in the celebration; and my favorite Keith Olbermann was the one to announce it to me. I was in heaven. Creux will never know a world where only old white men overrun the pages of our history books. I'm so happy to have shared that experience with him, even though at 4 weeks he just looked at me blankly as I used his clean burp cloth to wipe my tears. He won't remember that night, but hopefully with the entry in his baby book, he will understand his mother more, as well as his country P.O. (pre-Obama). Congrats Mr. President Elect Obama. For our country's sake, and so I can show my face at family gettogethers, please don't prove me wrong.

Happy Halloween!
Here are my beautiful babies on Halloween. Grayson's makeup wa
s done by Grandma Janice, so she has a little Mommy Dearest going on! Scary! Also, it was 70 degrees out but Grandma "requested" that Grayson put a sweatshirt and jeans under her princess costume. I've learned to pick my battles....so she wore the extra clothes. lol. Needless to say she was hot and uncomfortable, so she spent most of the evening passing out candy at the store to over 500 children who came during the Ghost Walk. The Ghost Walk is where most of the businesses in town stay open and pass out candy to the area children. There are an estimated 500 who stop by! We had Creux on display that night as well. A lot of our friends got to see him for the first time...ex. Erin, Sally, Matt, Becky....and many more. I even wore my fifties costume, which I forgot to get a picture of....yeah....forgot....that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Creux slept the entire time in his car seat on the counter. :)

This is Daddy and Creux's favorite place to relax, the overstuffed chair in the basement with the aid of the boppy pillow. Creux is busy watching TV in what Daddy calls his "Little Old Man" shirt, which is just a white onesie. It cracks Jeremy up whenever he sees him in one of these...don't ask me why. I think it's the sleep deprivation at this point. Jeremy has been taking the 3:30 am feeding since I started pumping a little. I take the 12:30 am feeding and the 7:00 am feeding as well as anything after 4:00 am because Daddy can't get back to sleep if he takes a late morning feeding. I was convinced for a couple nights that Daddy promised Creux a new car on his 16th birthday if he would just stay asleep until 4:05 am, that way Daddy got to sleep all night and Mommy got all three feedings. I don't mind giving Daddy a break though. He deserves it.
